Governments £1 billion Building Safety Fund for the remediation of unsafe non-ACM cladding systems

In the March 2020 budget, the government announced that it will provide £1 billion in 2020 to 2021 to support the remediation of unsafe non-ACM cladding system on residential buildings 18 metres and over in both the private and social housing sectors.

Building owners, freeholders or responsible entities who consider they may be eligible for the fund based, are asked to answer the questions via an on-line registration form that will made available on 1 June 2020 until the end of July 2020.

The Funding Requirements

  1. Do you have leaseholders who would have to pay for this work?
  2. Is your building over 18m (according to diagram D6 of Approved Document B)?
  3. Would the cost of the required remediation works threaten the financial viability of the provider or the Housing Revenue Account?

If the answer to the above questions is yes, you may be eligible for the fund.
